He studies the relationships between planning, design and construction processes. He has a PhD from Université de Montréal, a Masters in Architecture from McGill University and a post doctorate from the Department of Construction Economics and Management of University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has taught in leading Universities in Canada, Colombia and South Africa |

Dr. Lizarralde organizes the i-Rec international student competition of architectural solutions for post-disaster reconstruction. The competition is organized every two years and it has linked more than 28 Schools of architecture from Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. Submitions must address: architectural solutions (including architectural design), logistics and process-related solutions.
